Fall Snack Ideas
Delicious snacks for fall! Some are healthy, some are sweet, some are salty, and some are spooky… But beware…
they all are deliciously tasty treats for kids and adults.

Easy Halloween Treats for Kids
I love theming snacks and treats for my kids. It can be a great way to get picky eaters to try new things, but it’s also an easy way to bring out smiles and giggles. This past year has been challenging for everyone, so if a cute Halloween treat can bring joy, I’m all for it!
My spooky Halloween cake cookies are a delicious treat, but they’re not going to be the healthiest.
If you’re looking for ways to add fun to healthy snacks this Halloween, check out some of my favorite good-for-you and easy Halloween treats for kids:
Jack-o-Mandarin
There are two easy ways you can turn Mandarin oranges into adorable jack-o-lantern themed treats for Halloween.
You can begin with a bag of easy-to-peel mandarins and a marker for the first simple Halloween treat for kids. Simply draw funny faces on each orange for a cute snack that’s healthy and full of spooky fun!
Can’t get fresh mandarins? Individual Mandarin fruit cups are an easy solution. Simply draw your jack-o-lantern faces on the plastic covering and voila!
Easy Halloween treats for kids to enjoy before they trick-or-treat this year.
Ghost Cheese
Do your kids love cheese sticks as much as mine? If so, you’ll love this easy Halloween treat hack. Prepackaged mozzarella cheese sticks and a permanent marker are all you need to turn tasty string cheese into a spooky Halloween treat.
Separate the packaged cheese sticks and draw ghostly faces on each stick using the marker. Your kids will have lots of fun with this easy Halloween snack.
Boo-nanas
These do require a bit of prep, but not much. In fact, your kids might want to get in on the fun too. You’ll need fresh bananas, vanilla yogurt, and miniature chocolate chips. It’s a cute little trick to turn your bananas into spooky Halloween treats your ghosts and goblins will love.
Gather a cookie sheet, parchment paper, and popsicle sticks. Cut the bananas in half and stick the popsicle stick in the cut end of each banana half. Then, dip in yogurt and place on the parchment paper-covered cookie sheet.
Next, make cute ghostly faces on each banana using the chocolate chips. Then, put the yogurt covered bananas in the freezer to set. These are a big favorite with little trick or treaters and moms too because they taste like ice cream and they’re healthy too.

Halloween Spooky Cake Cookies

Halloween Cake Mix Whoopie Pies Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line two baking sheets with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
- Using a large bowl, beat together the cake mix, eggs, and oil until combined and smooth.
- Next, mix in the Halloween Sprinkles.
- Then, using a medium ice cream scooper, scoop dough onto the prepared cookie sheets.
- Bake in the oven for 10 minutes or until the cookies feel done to you. Remember, cake cookies can go from done to overdone quickly, so it’s a good idea to pull them out when the edges are done and the middle is a bit gooey. The center will continue cooking on the warm pan.
- Allow the cookies to cool completely before removing them from the pan. Enjoy!

Vanilla Frosting Filling Instructions
You can enjoy your spooky cake cookies as they are or make sandwich cookies with Halloween-themed vanilla frosting filling. Here’s how:
- Using a standing mixer, beat the butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and heavy whipping cream until combined, smooth and stiff peaks form
- Beat in about 3-4 drops of the neon green gel food coloring
- Scoop the frosting into the piping bag
- Match up the cookies to their size mate
- Pipe a ring of frosting onto the bottom cookie
- Place the top of the cookie sandwich on top
