Dr. Seuss Truffula Tree Cupcakes
This recipe only calls for a few ingredients and if you use boxed cake mix cupcakes, these are so simple and easy to do!
- 6 Prepared Cupcakes (I used a white boxed cake mix with green liners)
- 1 Can White Frosting
- Green Candy Shreds or Green Jimmies
- 1 ½ Cups Shredded Coconut
- 10-12 Dum Dum Suckers
- Food Coloring (Pink, Blue, Purple, Orange, Yellow, Green)

Start by placing about ½ can of frosting into a small bowl and adding 2-3 drops of green food coloring. Make certain to mix well.
Next, you’re going to frost each cupcake with a knife. Then sprinkle on the green candy shreds or jimmies and set aside.

Divide the shredded coconut up between six bowls and add 2-3 drops of different food coloring to each bowl and mix well.

Add a little white frosting to a small bowl. Next, take and unwrap a dum dum and twirl it in the frosting so it’s coated nicely and even but not too thick.

Place the frosted lollipop into one of the coconut bowls and coat it well.
Lay it on a parchment-lined cookie sheet and repeat steps until you have all the “truffula” trees made.
