It's actually a lot of fun to not tell anyone that there's anything in the middle and then see their faces light up with surprise!

Little Mermaid Cupcakes
This recipe only calls for a few ingredients and if you use a white box cake mix, you can easily make them with no issues at all.
- Cupcakes: 1 White Box Cake Mix
- vanilla frosting
- marshmallow fondant or white modeling chocolate
- Yellow GEL food coloring
- Blue GEL food coloring
- Teal GEL food coloring
- Silver pearl sprinkles
- Candy eyeballs
Make Cupcakes Per Box Cake Mix Directions
Spoon it into a lined cupcake pan and bake them until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool cupcakes completely before decorating.
Break marshmallow fondant into ¼ and ¾ portions.
Work 15-20 drops of yellow GEL food coloring into larger portion of marshmallow fondant.
Break yellow marshmallow fondant into 12 small pieces. Form each of the 12 pieces into a ball, then roll it into a fat cylinder.
Make one end of your cylinder very thin and the other very fat. This is your fish body.
With the remainder ¼ of the marshmallow fondant, work in 5-10 drops of blue food coloring.
Break off a very small portion and roll it into a ball and flatten it.
Make 3 more identical flattened balls. These are the side fins and tail fins.
Place the side and tail fins on the fish body in the appropriate locations and now you have adorable fish to place on your cupcakes.
