Halloween Cookie Cake Recipe

Haunted Tree Halloween Cookie Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  

Vanilla Frosting

  • 1 C unsalted sweet cream butter softened
  • 2 ½ C powdered sugar
  • Black gel food coloring
  • Orange gel food coloring
  • 1 disposable piping bag with star tip
  • 1 disposable piping bag with number 4 tip
  • 1 disposable piping bag with number 2 tip
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoon heavy whipping cream

Instructions
 

Cookie Cake Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and spray a 9in cast iron with baking spray
  • Use an electric mixer to cream butter, sugar, and brown sugar together in a bowl.
  • Continue to beat with the electric mixer while adding in the egg and vanilla.
  • Set out a second bowl to sift the flour, baking soda, and salt together.
  • Slowly add ⅓ of the flour mixture at a time to the wet ingredients. Beat to mix well.
  • Repeat until all of the dry ingredients have been blended with the wet ingredients.
  • Add 1 ½ cups of the sprinkles to the cookie dough.
  • Transfer the cookie dough to the prepared skillet.
  • Press the top of the cookie dough into the skillet.
  • Top the cookie dough with the remaining ½ cup of the sprinkles.
  • Spread the sprinkles evenly on the top of the unbaked cookie.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes.
  • Set aside to cool completely.

Frosting Directions

  • Using a standing mixer, beat the butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and heavy whipping cream together, until combined and smooth but with stiff peaks
  • Scoop about 1 C of frosting into a small bowl and mix in about 4 drops of the orange food
  • coloring
  • Beat in a few drops of the black gel food coloring and mix until combined
  • Beat in a few more drops of the black gel food coloring until you get the shade that you want
  • Scoop about ½ C of the frosting between the piping bags with the number 2 and 4 tip
  • Scoop the orange frosting onto 1 side of the star tip piping bag
  • Scoop the rest of the black frosting onto the other side of the same piping bag
  • Set aside

Decorating Directions

  • Using the number 4 tip piping bag, start by piping out a crooked hill for the tree to sit on
  • Pipe the base of the tree and then start piping out branches for the tree. Make sure to curl the ends to make the branches look creepy.
  • Using the number 2 tip piping bag, pipe of little bats around the tree
  • Using the star tip, pipe dollops of the orange and black frosting around the edge
  • Allow the frosting to harden slightly before enjoying it!
