Apple Walnut Cake Recipe

Delicious Apple Dapple Cake Recipe for Fall

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ C Canola oil
  • 1 ½ C sugar
  • ½ C light brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs room temp
  • 1 Tbsp pure vanilla extract
  • 3 C all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp allspice
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 3 Granny Smith apples
  • ½ C crushed walnuts

Caramel Sauce

  • 1 C light brown sugar
  • 6 Tbsp unsalted sweet cream butter
  • ¼ C heavy cream
  • ½ tsp pure vanilla extract
  • salt
  • ½ C chopped walnuts

Instructions
 

  • Core, peel, and dice the apples
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Prepare a 9 inch springform pan, including the base and sides, with nonstick baking spray.
  • In a mixing bowl add vegetable oil, sugar, and brown sugar, mix together until everything is well mixed.
  • Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Add the vanilla, beating on medium speed until blended.
  • Add flour, baking soda, cinnamon, allspice, salt, and nutmeg in a small bowl. Whisk to blend.
  • Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients.
  • Beat until all ingredients are mixed.
  • Add the walnuts and apples. Blend until mixed well.
  • Scoop the batter in the pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes.

Caramel Sauce

  • Add the ingredients to a medium pot over medium heat.
  • Whisking while bringing the pot to a boil.
  • Lightly stir for 3 minutes.
  • Fold in the chopped walnuts
  • Pour the sauce over a warm cake.
