This is a simple recipe to follow and only takes a few ingredients. With cake mix, a little bit of frosting and a few gummies, you’ll have the best Cat in the Hat Cupcakes. They are fun to make and eat Dr. Seuss themed food!

There’s never a bad time to make these Dr. Seuss cupcakes. We’ve made them at home for storytime, taken them for class parties, and of course, served them up for Dr. Seuss’s birthday.
Cupcakes are the perfect dessert to hand out to family and friends.
Inspired by the Dr. Seuss classic, these fun and tasty Cat in the Hat Cupcakes are sure to be a hit with young readers and even adults.
How to Make Cat in the Hat Cupcakes

Dr. Seuss Cat in the Hat Cupcakes
This recipe only calls for a few ingredients and if you use a boxed cake mix, These cupcakes will be done in 30 minutes.
Cake Mix Recipe
- 1 Box White Cake Mix
- 1 Can White Frosting
- Red Ice Cream Cones
- Life Saver Gummies (Only need the Red)
- Red Food Coloring
Start by pre-heating your oven to 350 degrees.

Once done, it’s time to make the cake mix according to package directions. After it’s mixed well, it’s time to fill the red ice cream cones about 3/4 the way up.
BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS NEXT PART.
Carefully place your ice cream cones filled with cake mixture on a cookie sheet or ice cream baking rack and place in the oven. Proceed in baking them for 23-25 minutes and remove them from the oven. Set aside and let cool completely before moving on to the next step.

While the cupcakes are cooling, split the frosting between two bowls and color one red. Next, put each color of frosting into a baggie or piping bag and snip the corner.

Cupcake Decorating Ideas
Once the cupcakes are cooled, pipe on a thin layer of white frosting, then follow that up with another piping of a smaller circle of red frosting and end with a smaller circle of white frosting.

Grab your red gummies and place one on top of the frosted cupcake. Then take and pipe frosting around the gummy then place another red gummy on top.
Repeat step until you have 3 gummies stacked on top of each other.

Now you’re ready to enjoy yummy cupcakes and serve them up for a fun Dr. Seuss party!
