Mermaid Cupcakes – Easy Mermaid Cupcakes Everyone Will Love

For a sweet summer dessert, these Mermaid Cupcakes are the perfect thing to eat. They are easy to make and look amazing. Serve these mermaid tail cupcakes for a summer treat or ocean theme party.

If you are having a mermaid theme party or under the sea theme, these yummy mermaid cupcakes will make a perfect party food idea.

What you will need to make these Mermaid Cupcakes is in this picture below. However, I have it displayed in a recipe list form to print out towards the bottom of the page.

As you can see this recipe only calls for a few ingredients and if you use a box cake mix (like we do) to start they can be done in less than 30 minutes.

• 6 Prepared Strawberry Cupcakes
• Blue Frosting
• Pink, Purple, and White Chocolate Candy Melts
• Edible Shimmer Bead Sprinkles
• Silicone Mermaid Tail Mold

It’s a good idea to start with your chocolate molds so your mermaid tails can harden while you bake your cupcakes.

Start by melting the chocolate according to the package directions. Once it’s melted, place each chocolate in a sandwich size baggie and snip a very small hold in one corner.

Squeeze the chocolates in the mold. You can swirl the chocolates or do solid colors. Let them set for 10-15 minutes or until they are completely hardened then carefully pop your mermaid tails out of the mold.

Bake your cupcakes using a Strawberry box cake mix or you can buy strawberry cupcakes from your bakery. Of course if you prefer homemade your favorite homemade strawberry cake recipe will be perfect too.

Frost your cupcakes, you can use a piping bag and tip or just frost them with a knife. For these mermaid cupcakes, I prefer to frost them clockwise using a large tip. It gives them a lovely swirl look like the ocean waves.

Sprinkle your cupcakes with the shimmer beads and add a chocolate mermaid tail.

Serve these cupcakes right away and enjoy or store them in an airtight container until later.

We like making these delicious cupcakes at the beginning of the summer for our first beach day or opening day at the pool. The kids (and adults) love eating these gorgeous mermaid cupcakes.
